Galway Lights and Zereva collided soon after the start.  Galway Lights, Zereva and Go The Doves collided approaching the first turn.  Jackson's Creek and Dinkydi Sweetie collided approaching the first turn checking Dinkydi Sweetie.  Zereva and Go The Doves collided on the first turn.  Devon Shadow and Go The Doves collided approaching the home turn.  Dinkydi Sweetie checked off Go The Doves on the home turn.  Mighty Tuscany stumbled approaching the winning post and lost ground.

Encantador was slow to begin.

Montaro and She'll Be White collided approaching the first turn checking She'll Be White, Encantador, Geena Bale and Hook Along Mint.  Encantador and Hook Along Mint collided on the first turn.  Encantador checked off Geena Bale approaching the home turn checking Hook Along Mint.  Want It All visibly eased and turned its head approaching the winning post.  

Want It All underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 7. No apparent was reported. 

Stewards spoke to Mr G. Burns, the trainer of Want It All regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Want It All was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Burns pleaded guilty to the charge, Want It All is suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Bernmar World – Late scratching at 11.38am due to the incorrect greyhound being presented at kenneling (GAR 31.1).  Trainer Mr P. Borradale was fined $250.

Riley's Reason checked off Pedda Pal approaching the first turn.  Our Golden Bro and Pedda Pal collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Gunner's Hawk and Darnum Bolt collided approaching the home turn checking Riley's Reason.

Zipping Chantal underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle and right triangle injuries.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

No Sugar was quick to begin.

Aston Cabernet checked off Split Pea soon after the start.  Shifty galloped on No Sugar on the first turn causing Bluwy and No Sugar to fall checking Shifty and Blazing Flora.  

Bluwy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

No Sugar underwent a post-race veterinary exmaination and was found to have a left triangle injury.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

She Got Fire - Late scratching at 11.44am on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a right back muscle injury.  A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke with Mr M. Carr, the representative for She Got Fire regarding the late scratching of the greyhound at kennelling. Mr Carr stated that he had the greyhound checked by Dr M. Bell at his property on Tuesday 17 December, 2019 and stated that Dr Bell noted that the greyhound was showing signs of minor soreness to the right gracilis muscle, however in his opinion he felt that the greyhound would not need to be scratched as the injury at the time was minor. Mr Carr also stated that over the past few days the greyhound had been free galloped and had not shown any signs of soreness or injury. He further stated that he had not noticed any problems while preparing the greyhound this morning and was unaware that the injury was present. Stewards noted the explanation and reminded Mr Carr of his responsibilities to ensure he checks his greyhounds thoroughly in future before arriving on course.
