Whodat Dare was quick to begin. Madalia Maggie was slow to begin. Alfie Mikado checked off Aeroplane Tippa on the first turn checking Macs Road. Jonty Bale contacted the running rail on the first turn. Alfie Mikado and Macs Road collided in the back straight checking Macs Road. Jonty Bale checked off Alfie Mikado approaching the second turn. Jonty Bale and Macs Road collided on the second turn. Aeroplane Tippa and Gee Dalton collided on the second turn checking Aeroplane Tippa. Aeroplane Tippa and Gee Dalton collided several times approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking Aeroplane Tippa which brushed the running rail as a result.
Jonty Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
