Cilla Gem and Duke Of Airly were quick to begin. Confront was slow to begin. Star Faith and Duke Of Airly collided soon after the start. Cilla Gem checked off Star Faith on the first turn. Party Mix brushed the running rail on the first turn causing it to stumble losing considerable ground as a result. Duke Of Airly and Star Faith collided on the first turn checking Star Faith. Destini Trucker and Tansy collided on the first turn checking Destini Trucker. Duke Of Airly and Confront collided approaching the home turn. Duke Of Airly galloped on Confront approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Duke Of Airly checked off Confront approching the home turn. Star Faith and Cilla Gem collided entering the home straight and again approaching the winning post.
Party Mix underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
