Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Leaping Lydia.
She's Got Cash was quick to begin. Leaping Lydia was slow to begin.
She's Got Cash crossed to the rail soon after the start. Lady Ruby checked off She's Got Cash entering the home straight. Lady Ruby, She's Got Cash and Leaping Lydia collided in the home straight severely checking Lady Ruby and She's Got Cash. Lady Ruby visibly eased approaching the winning post checking She's Got Cash.
Leaping Lydia – Proved difficult to box and will be boxed first in future events in accordance with GAR 52.
Lady Ruby underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr Neil Parsons, the trainer of Lady Ruby regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Lady Ruby was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Parsons pleaded guilty to the charge, Lady Ruby is suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Brand New - the winner of the event.
