Lily The Weapon was slow to begin. Lily The Weapon galloped on the heels of See Ya Mate approaching the first turn. See Ya Mate lost ground on the home turn and tailed off as a result.
See Ya Mate underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury and a dislocated toe to the right hindleg. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards noted that due to a technical difficulty the incorrect race number was displayed on the semaphore board for this event.
