Big Barra and Levy's Banjo collided soon after the start. Kiewa Cowboy eased approaching the first turn. Bob's Malow and Camo Rex collided on the first turn checking Murrabit Sammy and Bob's Malow. Levy's Banjo and Horey's Prince collided on the home turn. Kiewa Cowboy, Big Barra and Almendra raced wide entering the home straight.

Kiewa Cowboy underwent a post-race veterinary examination  - no apparent injury was reported. Mr Leitch declined to have the greyhound re-vetted.

Stewards spoke to Mr W Leitch, the trainer of Keiwa Cowboy regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Kiewa Cowboy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr W Leitch pleaded guilty to the charge, Keiwa Cowboy is suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Kraken Bo was quick to begin.

Moonquake checked off Mi Roma on the first turn.

Chook Richards and Buckle Up Eve were slow to begin.

Bugsy Magic, Sultan Bale, Starring Ringo and Kiewa River Flo collided on the first turn checking all four greyhounds causing Starring Ringo to check Chook Richards and Buckle Up Eve.

Stewards spoke to the handler of Starring Ringo Mr P Stefanos and issued the greyhound with a warning regarding the greyhounds box manners.

Orleans – New declared weight of 36.0kg, last raced at 34.1kg.

Lily The Weapon was slow to begin. Lily The Weapon galloped on the heels of See Ya Mate approaching the first turn. See Ya Mate lost ground on the home turn and tailed off as a result.

See Ya Mate underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury and a dislocated toe to the right hindleg. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards noted that due to a technical difficulty the incorrect race number was displayed on the semaphore board for this event.

Forgotten Girl was quick to begin. 

Kraken Courage, Tat Odin and Aston Jagger collided approaching the first turn checking Kraken Courage and Tat Odin. You Blue, Aston Jagger and Bumble Bee Bolto collided approaching the home turn.

Kraken Courage – Proved difficult to box and will be boxed first in future events in accordance with GAR 52. 

Kraken Tan was slow to begin. Adriel and Luka's Choice collided approaching the first turn and again approaching the home turn. Adriel checked off Luka's Choice entering the home straight. Hello Cobber raced wide entering the home straight.

GRV Stewards concluded an inquiry into an incident that occurred in the vicinity of the kennelling area during the Shepparton greyhound racing meeting on Thursday 19 September, 2019.  Evidence was taken from GRV Investigative Steward Mr Kirk Branton and Registered Trainer Mr Simon Humphries. After considering all the evidence, the Stewards issued a charge against Mr Humphries under GAR 86 (q). The particulars being that at the Shepparton Greyhound Racing Club on 19 September 2019, Mr Humphries, being a registered person with GRV, has conducted himself in a manner which was detrimental and prejudicial to the interests and image of greyhound racing. This conduct included using inappropriate language towards a GRV official. Mr. Humphries pleaded guilty to the charge. After considering submissions from Mr Humphries, Stewards issued a fine of $500, which was wholly suspended for 2 years, pending no further conduct related issues in that time. In determining penalty, Stewards took into consideration: 

•Mr. Humphries’ submissions regarding his personal circumstances

•The circumstances of the offence

•Mr Humphries guilty plea and good record for conduct related matters

•Specific and general deterrence 

•The significance of the image of greyhound racing to GRV 

•Denunciation and precedents of a similar nature
