Steward's Report
Ricky Racoon was quick to begin. Max McCartin, Fawkner Park and Daisy Hill Lad were slow to begin.
Ricky Racoon and Hard At It collided soon after the start. Ricky Racoon, Hard At It and Vin Joel collided soon after the start, checking Ricky Racoon and Hard At It. Ricky Racoon checked off heels of Vin Joel and collided with Hard At It on the first turn. Wolf's Ace visibly eased, shifted out and collided with Banjo Bliss on the first turn. Wolf's Ace checked off the heels of Vin Joel on the home turn. Hard At It faded in the home straight.
Wolf's Ace underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have lower back soreness, a deltoid injury and sore biceps. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr K Ward, Trainer, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Wolf's Ace was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Ward pleaded guilty to the charge, Wolf's Ace must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Hard At it underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a bicep and right hind leg injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
