Steward's Report
Leaving was quick to begin.
Gotham Duchess, Vixstar, Rose Royce and Leaving collided soon after the start checking Vixstar which lost ground as a result. Rose Royce checked off Leaving approaching the first turn. Vixstar, Rose Royce and Falconetti collided on the first turn checking Rose Royce and Falconetti. Gotham Duchess turned it's head outwards and collided heavily with Leaving and in turn collided with Rainbow Spirit entering the home straight. Gotham Duchess and Leaving collided in the home straight.
Gotham Duchess underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right and left foreleg monkey and deltoid muscles, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. S. Lithgow, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Gotham Duchess was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Lithgow pleaded guilty to the charge, Gotham Duchess must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
