Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 21.3 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.9 degrees.
Broken Drum – New declared weight of 34.8kg, last raced at 33.6kg.
Shima Tune was quick to begin.
Super Zoom Jake, Lektra Yoyo and Shima Tune collided approaching the first turn checking Lizzie's Enity. Super Zoom Jake, Lektra Yoyo and Shima Tune collided on the first turn checking Rockstar Carmody, severely checking Super Zoom Jake and causing Shima Tune to fall as a result. Dust Storm raced wide to avoid the fallen greyhound.
Following the event, Stewards inspected the track in the vicinty of the first turn and deemed the surface suitable for racing.
Mr. G Dailly failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Dust Storm for racing. Stewards spoke to Mr G. Dailly and accepted his explanation and issued a warning, pursuant to GAR 46 (2)
Super Zoom Jake underwent a post-race veterinary examination - and was found to have abrasions and spike wounds to both hind limbs. No stand down period was imposed.
Shima Tune underwent a post-race veterinary examination - and was found to have a left foreleg tricep injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
