Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Cordoza.
Diama Miss was quick to begin.
Nothing Ventured, Assertive and Ashby Swift collided on the first turn, checking Nothing Ventured and Assertive resulting in Nothing Ventured and Limburg Special to collide and check off Cordoza. Limburg Special and Nothing Ventured collided on the home turn. Cordoza visibly eased approaching the winning post.
Cordoza underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr S. Cassar, the trainer of Cordoza regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Cordoza was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr S. Cassar pleaded guilty to the charge, Cordoza is suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
