Steward's Report
Skittle and Quick Paws were quick to begin. Lamotta was slow to begin. Quick Paws crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Mighty Matilda, Unit Bale, Rock Me Lloyd and Skittle. Egoline Zeb crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Unit Bale. Cyclone Arrow was checked off Quick Paws on the first turn and lost ground checking Quick Paws and Egoline Zeb. Lamotta and Rock Me Lloyd collided approaching the home turn. Rock Me Lloyd raced wide approaching the home turn, visibly eased and turned its head hampering Lamotta. Egoline Zeb visibly eased and turned its head approaching the home turn. Skittle and Mighty Matilda collided several times approaching the winning post.
Rock Me Lloyd underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a scratch on the left fibia. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. I. Dann regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Rock Me Lloyd was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Dann pleaded guilty to the charge, Rock Me Lloyd must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before an future nomination will be accepted.
Egoline Zeb underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported. Trainer Mr. A. Smit declined his option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Smit the trainer of Egoline Zeb regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Egoline Zeb was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Smit pleaded guilty to the charge, Egoline Zeb is suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
