A sample was taken from Zumi's Swagger upon arrival at the course.
Superior Jacob – New declared weight of 33.7kgs, last raced at 32.3kgs.
Magic Duo was quick to begin. Superior Jacob and Zumi's Swagger were slow to beign.
Bold Rooster and Sarah Beauty collided on the first turn checking Bold Rooster. Superior Jacob and One Double Beat raced wide on the first turn. Zumi's Swagger checked off One Double Beat on the first turn. One Double Beat raced wide on the home turn. Bold Rooster collided with Superior Jacob on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Bold Rooster visibly eased approaching the winning post.
Bold Rooster underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right shoulder and right hamstring muscles, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Arend Gringhuis, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Bold Rooster was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Gringhuis pleaded guilty to the charge, Bold Rooster must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
