Steward's Report
Too Be Sure - Late scratching at 12.52pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr B Russell was fined $100.
Akina Bear was slow to begin. Hayley Hook was very slow to begin (3 lengths). Shot Gun Pistol and Meat Murphy collided approaching the first turn. Shot Gun Pistol and Trubelle collided on the first turn severely checking Trubelle, Dr. Brissa and Akina Bear checking Hayley Hook and Meat Murphy. Dr. Brissa and Trubelle collided in the home straight. Dr. Brissa marred Trubelle in the home straight checking Trubelle.
Dr. Brissa underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. Judith McMahon, the trainer of Dr. Brissa regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Dr. Brissa was charged with marring. Mrs. McMahon pleaded not guilty to the charge, Dr. Brissa is suspended for 28 days at Sale and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
