Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Boom Down.
Boom Down and Midnight Mystery were slow to begin.
Rippin' Sam lost significant ground on the first turn and subsequently tailed off. She Will Bloom faltered on the second turn, checking Boom Down, She Will Bloom subsequently tailed off. Blue Shadows and Angry Trip collided in the home straight.
She Will Bloom underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Rippin' Sam underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right wrist sprains. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to the representative of the greyhound Rippin' Sam, Mrs K. Bravo regarding the greyhound's performance in tonight's event. Mrs Bravo stated she was of the opinion the greyhound was sound in the lead up to the race but was obviously showing signs of a wrist injury subsequent to the race. Stewards queried the injuries sustained in the greyhound's last two starts, however Mrs Bravo was unable to provide any explanation regarding this, as the greyhound was not in her care.
Stewards will require Rippin' Sam to perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) in accordance with GAR 71. Stewards will also require a veterinary certificate of clearance prior to the trial, and before any future nomination is accepted in relation to the greyhound.
