Steward's Report
Rainbow Spirit was quick to begin. Classified and Butter Puddin' were slow to begin.
Crackerjack John, Aston Achilles and Lektra Twixy collided soon after the start. Butter Puddin' contacted the running rail on the first turn. Lektra Twixy galloped on the heels of Crackerjack John on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Aston Achilles and Missy Bale collided approaching the home turn. Classified and Missy Bale collided in the home straight.
Butter Puddin' underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
A post-race sample were taken from Rainbow Spirit placed 3rd in the event.
Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Carthew, the trainer of Rainbow Spirit regarding a significant market move on fixed odds betting ($17 to $5) for the greyhound. Mr. Carthew stated that he had a minimal investment on Rainbow Spirit and was unaware of the betting surrounding the greyhound. Stewards noted Mr. Carthew’s comments.
