Steward's Report
Jay Bird and Mick's Multi were quick to begin. Masamune was checked off Decker soon after the start. Moroka Magic and Decker collided on the first turn. Jay Bird, Miss Dina and Bag of Tricks collided on the first turn checking Miss Dina and Bag Of Tricks. Masamune visibly eased and turned its head approaching the home turn and collided with Miss Dina checking Miss Dina. Masamune was checked off Miss Dina on the home turn. Decker raced wide in the home straight.
Masamune underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported. Trainer Mr. G. Brown declined his option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Brown the trainer of Masamune regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Masamune was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Brown pleaded guilty to the charge, Masamune is suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
