Steward's Report
Daytona Icon was slow to begin.
Select Pattern and Shifty collided soon after the start. Grumpy Derek and Bernmar Junior colided approaching the 250m mark checking both greyhounds. Grumpy Creek and Select Pattern collided at the 150m mark. Bernmar Junior marred Grumpy Creek approaching the winning post checking Bernmar Junior.
Bernmar Junior underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left monkey and left quadriceps. A 14day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr P. Borradale, the Trainer of Bernmar Junior regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Bernmar Junior was charged with marring. Mr Borradale pleaded not guilty to the charge, Bernmar Junior was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
