Razor Sharp and Aston Rum were slow to begin.
Shanlyn Georgie stumbled at box rise and was slow to begin. One Thrill, Shanlyn Georgie, Razor Sharp and Wilbury collided soon after the start checking Shanlyn Georgie and Razor Sharp. Dyna Drew and Razor Sharp collided on the first turn. Shanlyn Georgie checked off Wilbury on the first turn checking Razor Sharp. Shanlyn Georgie and Aston Rum collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds. Shanlyn Georgie lost ground over the concluding stages.
Shanlyn Georgie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right trapezius muscle injury and mild abrasions to both back feet. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
