Steward's Report
Flying Banjo, Tinker Cass, Kiewa Lady and Lachie's Legacy were slow to begin.
Flying Banjo and Kiewa Lady collided soon after the start. Spot On Mick raced wide soon after the start and collided with Mane Toy severely checking Mane Toy. Spot On Mick and Tinker Cass collided at the 250m mark and again approaching the 200m mark and again approaching the 100m mark. Spot On Mick and Flying Banjo collided at the 100m mark. Cute Patootie eased at the 50m mark.
Cute Patootie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike injury to the right hock, a no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer V. Gay, regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 50m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Cute Patootie was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Gay pleaded guilty to the charge, Cute Patootie must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Kiewa Lady underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion the the rear right hock, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr A. Broadley, the representative of Kiewa Lady regarding its performance throughout the event. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Kiewa Lady must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Ferny Flat Miss - the winner of the event.
