Steward's Report
Mepunga Sparkle – New declared weight of 28.6kgs, last raced at 29.8kgs.
Ginger Bar was slow to begin. Marvaha Bale turned its head inward soon after the start. Dewana Degoey and Dewana Step collided approaching the first turn. Ginger Bar and Mepunga Sparkle collided on the first turn checking Mepunga Sparkle, Kenita and Marvaha Bale. Mepunga Sparkle and Marvaha Bale collided entering the home straight. Marvaha Bale marred Kenita on the home turn.
Marvaha Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Mark Delbridge, regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Marvaha Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Delbridge pleaded not guilty to the charge, Marvaha Bale was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
