Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff, at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Red Gate stumbled at the start.  Weeona Bont and Too Good Joog collided soon after the start.  Croucher and Weeona Bont collided approaching the first turn checking Drumroll Please.  Croucher, Weeona Bont and Too Good Joog collided on the first turn checking Weeona Bont, Too Good Joog and Weblec Smoke, causing Drumroll Please to check off Weblec Smoke,both greyhounds raced wide as a result.

Mister Harlewood and Up And About were quick to begin.

Banga went up with the lids at box rise.  Just Terms and Rockstar Beav collided soon after the start.  Banga and Belt Up Ronny collided approaching the first turn checking Banga.  Just Terms checked off Rockstar Beav in the back straight.  Up And About, Just Terms and Rockstar Beav collided entering the home straight checking Just Terms, causing Banga and Just Terms to collide.

Polly's Yohanna – Late scratching at 11.17am when trainer Mr S. Cachia reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Max Tractor and Mepunga Pegasus were slow to begin.

Max Tractor and Impending collided approaching the first turn.  Desiree Devere and Leon Bale collided on the first turn causing Leon Bale to stumble.  Impending and Leon Bale collided approaching the second turn checking both greyhounds.  Impending and Leon Bale collided on the second turn.  Mepunga Pegasus checked off Leon Bale entering the back straight.  Mepunga Pegasus and Leon Bale collided on the third turn and again approaching the home turn checking Leon Bale.  

Mr C. Grenfell was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound Tiggerlong Tonk pursuant to GAR 33.

Last Hurrah and Fernando's Riot collided soon after the start.  Hard Style Rico and Black Opium collided approaching the first turn.  Shima Shine checked off Snags McKenzie on the first turn checking Shima Shine and Last Hurrah.  Black Opium, Last Hurrah and Often Imitated collided approaching the second turn.  Shima Shine checked off Hard Style Rico approaching the second turn causing Shima Shine and Black Opium to collide.  Often Imitated checked off Shima Shine entering the back straight.  Shima Shine and Black Opium collided in the back straight.  Black Opium checked off Shima Shine approaching the home turn.

Tauwitchere and Extra Gear collided soon after the start.  Tauwitchere and Mepunga Maggie collided approaching the first turn checking Mepunga Maggie.  Extra Gear checked off Tauwitchere on the first turn checking Extra Gear, causing Extra Gear and Weblec Eagle to collide, causing Weblec Eagle to check off Dark Arrow.  King Colt brushed the running rail entering the front straight.  Extra Gear and Mepunga Maggie collided approaching the second turn.  Extra Gear and Weblec Eagle collided approaching the third turn checking Extra Gear.  Weblec Eagle checked off Weeona Bulldozer entering the front straight checking Weblec Eagle, causing Weblec Eagle and Mepunga Maggie to collide.  King Colt and Weeona Bulldozer collided in the home straight. 

Swift Current was quick to begin.  Ultimate Bling and Talulah Bale were slow to begin.

Lightning Blast and Almapa Sunshine collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds, Almapa Sunshine faltered and pulled up as a result.  Talulah Bale raced wide on the second turn.  Ultimate Bling and Lightning Blast collided on the second turn.  Security Code and Swift Current collided on the home turn.  

Almapa Sunshine underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture.  A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Aeroplane Eric, Smokin' Cindy and Who Cry Now collided soon after the start.  Matilda Hook, Kingfisher Rose and Aeroplane Eric collided on the first turn checking Aeroplane Eric, causing Smokin' Cindy and Who Cry Now to race wide.  Aeroplane Eric checked off Matilda Hook entering the back straight and again on the third turn.

Zipping Clive and Barcia Prince collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Zipping Clive which brushed the running rail.  Barcia Prince checked off Zen Prince on the second turn checking Zen Prince, causing Barcia Prince and Devel Sixteen to collide.  Zipping Clive, Zen Prince and Devel Sixteen collided in the back straight.  Barcia Prince and Route Sixty Six collided in the back straight.  Barcia Prince and Zen Prince collided on the third turn.  

I'm Easy Boys and Better Watch Out collided soon after the start.  Vesper Bale, Lady Emerald and Captain Dynamite collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn.  Lady Emerald checked off Iylee Bale approaching the second turn.  Vesper Bale, Iylee Bale and I'm Easy Boys collided on the third turn.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Investigative Steward Mr. K. Branton conducted a GRV licence (certificate of registration) check of all catchers in accordance with LR 16.2 at the start of this meeting, all were compliant except Mr. B. Meachem. Stewards subsequently charged Mr. Meachem with a breach of Local Rule 16.2, after he failed to produce his GRV licence when requested to do so by Investigative Steward Mr. K. Branton. Mr Meachem pleaded guilty to the charge and was issued a fine of $100.00.
