Steward's Report

Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff, at all times.

Double Zero was quick to begin.

King Of Dads and Curious Faith collided soon after the start checking Curious Faith. King Of Dads checked off Netmar Junior on the first turn, checking Self Assured. Double Zero visibly eased on the first turn. Create A Scene, Neymar Junior and Curious Faith collided on the first turn checking Neymar Junior and Curious Faith. Create A Scene and Double Zero collided approaching the home turn checking Create A Scene and Curious Faith. Self Assured, Neymar Junior and Alvira raced wide entering the home straight.

Double Zero underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hind foot spike wound, however no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representive Andrew Xerri, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turm. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Double Zero was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Xerri pleaded guilty to the charge, Double Zero must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
