Steward's Report
Further enhancements have been made by Stewards around social distancing with COVID-19. In accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed the Starter to box the greyhounds in a single file boxing process, commencing with box 1, followed by 2, followed by 3, followed by 4, followed by 5, followed by 6, followed by 7, followed by 8. Essentially 1 through 8 in single file. All handlers will be 2m back from the handler in front during loading process.
Stewards altered the closing time of kennelling in accordance with GAR 31, due to operational requirements around social distancing. The kennels closed at 10.34am.
Golden Scar - New declared weight of 32.5 kgs, last raced at 31.3 kgs.
Dr. Francisco and Our Katie Rose were quick to begin.
Dr. Francisco and Our Katie Rose collided approaching the first turn. Dr. Francisco, Our Katie Rose and Butternut collided on the first turn, checking Butternut, Dr. Francisco, Avenger Spolly and Golden Scar. Golden Scar, Daisy Mac and Avenger Spolly collided on the first turn, checking Daisy Mac. Golden Scar and Avenger Spolly collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn, checking both greyhounds and causing both greyhounds to race wide.
Golden Scar underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr G. Clifton, the trainer of Golden Scar, and issued a warning regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn.
