Steward's Report
Due to Government advice around COVID-19, in accordance with GAR 51(10), the Stewards directed the Starter to box the greyhounds into the starting boxes in the following order, 1 & 5, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8 for all races.
Well Grounded was quick to begin. Dewana Step was slow to begin.
Well Grounded and Mia's Wish collided approaching the first turn. Well Grounded and Macey Moo collided on the first turn. Mia's Wish marred Royal Coconut approaching the second turn. Dewana Step and Royal Coconut collided on the third turn.
Mia's Wish underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left triangle muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr S. Hughes, the trainer of Mia's Wish regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the second turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Mia's Wish was charged with marring. Mr Hughes pleaded guilty to the charge, Mia's Wish is suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
