Winsome Fashion and Hillbilly Road were quick to begin.
Winsome Fashion raced wide soon after the start checking Nitro Roxy and Victor Ludorum. Winsome Fashion checked off Skibo Rebel on the first turn. Winsome Fashion and Nitro Roxy collided approaching the home turn checking Nitro Roxy. Hillbilly Road and Skibo Rebel collided entering the home straight causing Hillbilly Road to stumble and lose ground. Winsome Fashion turned its head inwards and collided with Hillbilly Road in the home straight. Winsome Fashion and Hillbilly Road collided several times in the home straight.
Hillbilly Road underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to left flexor tendon and left triangle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Winsome Fashion underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left wrist, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler Mr N. Lenehan, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Winsome Fashion was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Lenehan pleaded guilty to the charge, Winsome Fashion must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
