Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Chill Out Webby.
Lonnie Mach, Blusain Bolt and Jeda's Girl were quick to begin.
Blusain Bolt and Jeda's Girl collided soon after the start. Ask Me Now, Valencia Gem, Chill Out Webby, Blusain Bolt and Jeda's Girl collided on the first turn checking Chill Out Webby. Blusain Bolt, Kissable and Dove's Cry. Blusain Bolt and Dove's Cry collided entering the front straight. Ask Me Now visibly eased approaching the second turn and collided with Chill Out Webby. Ask Me Now and Chill Out Webby collided on the third turn checking Ask Me Now. Blusain Bolt raced wide in the back straight. Ask Me Now visibly eased approaching the fourth turn and pulled up as a result. Jeda's Girl checked off Lonnie Mach approaching the home turn.
Ask Me Now underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Trainer, Mr. Brendan Pursell declined a re-examination.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Pursell, the trainer of Ask Me Now regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second turn and again approaching the fourth turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Ask Me Now was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Pursell pleaded guilty to the charge, Ask Me Now is suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
