A pre-race sample was taken from Rapid Response.
Akina Spot was quick to begin. Rapid Response was slow to begin. Anise and Akina Archer collided soon after the start checking Anise. Akina Spice was checked off Akina Archer approaching the first turn. Akina Spot eased on the first turn and lost ground. Akina Spot was checked off Saipan Bale on the first turn. Jillissa and Mombasa collided enteirng the home straight.,
Akina Spot underwent a post race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 11. Akina Spot was found to have an injured right back muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Rowley regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Akina Spot was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Rowley pleaded guilty to the charge, Akina Spot must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
