Steward's Report
Splitting Image – Late scratching at 8:41pm, 12/10, when Mr W. Borland reported the greyhound to have an illness/diarrhoea (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
A pre-race sample was taken from Outta My Depth.
Orazzi Ohh faltered at the 250m mark and tailed off. Electric Hippy crossed to the rail approaching the 100m mark.
Orazzi Ohh underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right calf muscle and the left pencil muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
MEETING COMMENTS:
Stewards contacted Trainer, Mr Wayne Boreland, regarding the late withdrawals of three out of his seven greyhounds engaged at the Healesville meeting today. Mr Boreland told the Stewards that the greyhounds had been separated by two kennel areas and believed that the three greyhounds withdrawn became ill from a new and different batch of meat fed from the other greyhounds. Stewards directed the on-course Veterinarian, Dr Andrew Kalinowski, examine the remaining four greyhounds presented today before proceeding through the kennelling process. Dr Kalinowski was satisfied with the condition of the greyhounds and passed them fit to start.
