Nitro Value was quick to begin. Renita Bale and Nuclear Fusion were slow to begin.
Diego Fernando and Hasta Manana collided approaching the first turn, checking Hasta Manana. Diego Fernando and Wok Fried Yabby collided approaching the first turn, checking Wok Fried Yabby. Diego Fernando and Wok Fried Yabby collided on the first turn, checking Wok Fried Yabby and Hasta Manana. Nuclear Fusion eased,and then marred Hasta Manana in the home straight.
Nuclear Fusion underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left elbow and a cervico-thoracic injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Mr Peter Nicholls regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Nuclear Fusion was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Nicholls pleaded guilty to the charge, Nuclear Fusion must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
