Oriental Jade was quick to begin. Tiggerlong Ginga was slow to begin.
Cascade Guru, Kalter, Serene Rose and Why Not Dan collided on the first turn, checking Kalter. Serene Rose checked off Cascade Guru on the first turn and again approaching the home turn, checking Tiggerlong Ginga. Tiggerlong Ginga and Serene Rose raced wide approaching the home turn. Lady Gotham checked off Cascade Guru entering the home straight. Kalter checked off Cascade Guru in the home straight. Lady Gotham and Kalter collided in the home straight, checking Lady Gotham. Cascade Guru marred Zipping Aspen approaching the winning post.
Cascade Guru underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a lumbo-sacral injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Garry Selkrig, the trainer of Cascade Guru, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Cascade Guru was charged with marring. Mr Selkrig pleaded guilty to the charge, Cascade Guru was suspended for 28 days at Horsham and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
