Steward's Report
Gladiator was slow to begin.
Greysynd Blue and Flaming Assassin collided approaching the first turn. Flaming Assassin checked off Popcorn Payout on the first turn and raced wide as a result. Spring Value and Greysynd Blue collided on the first turn, checking Greysynd Blue. Spring Value and Popcorn Payout collided in the home straight. Spring Value turned it's head outwards in the home straight.
Spring Value underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg pencil/whip injury, a five day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Kevin Mugavin regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Spring Value was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Mugavin pleaded guilty to the charge, Spring Value must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Gladiator underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg tibia fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
