Steward's Report
Shadow Mist was slow to begin.
Aston Ando, Speckie McKean and Nangar Rippa collided soon after the start checking Nangar Rippa. Zipping Leroy and Grudge collided approaching the first turn checking Grudge. Aston Ando and Shadow Mist collided on the first turn checking Shadow Mist. So They Say marred Lance Link on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds. Shadow Mist checked off Aston Ando on the home turn. Lance Link and Grudge collided entering the home straight checking Lance Link. Nangar Rippa marred Zipping Leroy in the home straight.
Nangar Rippa underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following event 7 as requested by the handler. Nangar Rippa was found to have a left shoulder injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Robert Douglas, the handler of Nangar Rippa regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Nangar Rippa was charged with marring. Mr Douglas pleaded not guilty to the charge, Nangar Rippa was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
