Steward's Report
Henrow Bale was quick to begin. Lochinvar Deus was slow to begin.
Hunkapapa, Midnight Titan and Rixy Ya Pest collided soon after the start checking Hunkapapa and Midnight Titan. Rixy Ya Pest checked off Dyna Zaylee entering the back straight. Hunkapapa checked off Rixy Ya Pest in the back straight. Abyssal and Rixy Ya Pest collided approaching the second turn checking Abyssal. Hunkapapa checked off Abyssal on the second turn checking Lochinvar Deus. Hunkapapa checked off Abyssal approaching the home turn. Abyssal visibly eased approaching the winning post.
Abyssal underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left hind leg pencil muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr R. Chivell, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Abyssal was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Chivell pleaded guilty to the charge, Abyssal must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
