Surgical Wally – New declared weight of 32.3kg, last raced at 33.7kg.
Our Bravo Rose and Surgical Wally collided soonn after the start. Tui checked off Anna Victorem at the 250m mark. Our Bravo Rose checked off Surgical Wally at the 200m mark. Surgical Wally faltered at the 150m mark and lost considerable ground.
Surgical Wally underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right pencil muscle and right gluteals. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr G. McMillan, the trainer of Surgical Wally regarding its performance from the 150m mark. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Surgical Wally must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
