Pre-race samples were taken from Mepunga Isla and Tiggerlong Ginga.
Tiggerlong Ginga went up with the lids at box rise. Weeona Bont and It's A Jewel collided soon after the start. One Thrill and Mepunga Isla collided soon after the start. Tiggerlong Ginga and Weeona Bont collided approaching the first turn. It's A Jewel and Annie Rose collided approaching the first turn checking Annie Rose. Superstitious and Weeona Bont collided on the first turn. Tiggerlong Ginga and One Thrill collided approaching the second turn checking One Thrill. Mepunga Isla and Charlie Cockatoo collided on the third turn checking Charlie Cockatoo. Weeona Bont checked off Charlie Cockatoo on the home turn.

Trainer Mr Jeff Britton advised GRV Stewards on 27 May 2020, that Mr. Harlewood had pulled up with a minor tear in the triangle muscle following his Sandown Cup heat (21 May 2020) and would not be racing for around three (3) weeks.
