Steward's Report
It's A Flirt was quick to begin.
Serengiti Icon and Saint Rock collided approaching the first turn checking Saint Rock. Chillout Chuckie and Aston Kipchoge collided on the first turn. Mac's A Million raced wide on the first turn. Serengeti Icon and Saint Rock collided on the fourth turn checking Serengeti Icon. Also Arandt lost ground on the fourth turn. Saint Rock and Also Arandt collided on the home turn.
Also Arandt underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right groin injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mrs Margaret Brealey, after kennelling today regarding the upgrade in distance for Also Arandt. Mrs. Brealey told Stewards that she believes the greyhound is better suited to longer distances and had trialled well recently. Nonetheless, Mrs. Brealey stated she will be satisfied if the greyhound runs mid-field. Stewards further spoke to Mrs. Brealey following the event after Also Arandt lost ground on the fourth turn and faded in the home straight. Mrs. Brealey agreed with the Stewards' observation and indicated she would drop the greyhound slightly in distance at its next start. Stewards took no action in the matter other than to note Mrs. Brealey's explanation and taking into consideration the injury sustained to the greyhound.
