Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Enchanted Spirit and Grindylow collided soon after the start. Enchanted Spirit, Grindylow, Tig and La La Missouri collided approaching the first turn checking Lonnie Loot severely checking Grindylow. La La Louis and Enchanted Spirit approaching the first turn. Tig and Gypsy Xenon collided on the first turn. Enchanted Spirit, Tig and La La Missouri collided on the third turn and again on the home turn. Enchanted Spirit and Weblec Storm collided entering the home straight checking Enchanted Spirit.

Enchanted Spirit underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left pectoral muscle and a spike wound to the left hind leg. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Grindylow underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left monkey muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Blue Tycoon.

Weblec Rebel, Larry Bale and Party Lights were quick to begin. Brute went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.

Xenophilius and Blue Tycoon collided several times from soon after the start to approaching the first turn. Xenophilius, Blue Tycoon and Fabriola Yes collided approaching the first turn. Larry Bale and Party Lights collided on the first turn checking Brute who raced wide as a result. Larry Bale and Party Light s collided on the second turn. Brad Keeping checked off Part Lights on the second turn checking Larry Bale who fell as a result.

Larry Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a suspected fractured ulna. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

It's A Flirt was quick to begin.

Serengiti Icon and Saint Rock collided approaching the first turn checking Saint Rock. Chillout Chuckie and Aston Kipchoge collided on the first turn. Mac's A Million raced wide on the first turn. Serengeti Icon and Saint Rock collided on the fourth turn checking Serengeti Icon. Also Arandt lost ground on the fourth turn. Saint Rock and Also Arandt collided on the home turn.

Also Arandt underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right groin injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mrs Margaret Brealey, after kennelling today regarding the upgrade in distance for Also Arandt.  Mrs. Brealey told Stewards that she believes the greyhound is better suited to longer distances and had trialled well recently.  Nonetheless, Mrs. Brealey stated she will be satisfied if the greyhound runs mid-field.  Stewards further spoke to Mrs. Brealey following the event after Also Arandt lost ground on the fourth turn and faded in the home straight.  Mrs. Brealey agreed with the Stewards' observation and indicated she would drop the greyhound slightly in distance at its next start.  Stewards took no action in the matter other than to note Mrs. Brealey's explanation and taking into consideration the injury sustained to the greyhound.

Lucky Paws, Smart Mary and Greatest Showman were quick to begin. Gardener's Boyo was slow to begin.

Lucky Paws and Smart Mary collided soon after the start. Smart Mary faltered soon after the start and pulled up as a result. Gardener's Boyo and Cherokee Fawn collided on the third turn. Teardrop and Spooky Visitor collided in the home straight,

Smart Mary underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a fractured left hock. Smart Mary was humanely euthanased.

This race was delayed 3 minutes due to operational matters.

Zekel Bale and Moonie Convoy were slow to begin.

Settled, Easy Choice, Thriving and Ayo Joy collided approaching the first turn checking Ayo Joy, Zekel Bale, Settled and Moonie Convoy. Thriving and Ayo Joy collided entering the front straight. Settled checked off Zekel Bale on the third turn. Zekel Bale checked off Ayo Joy on the third turn. Mimstar checked off Ayo Joy entering the back straight and lost significant ground. Thriving and Debbie's Destiny collided on the fourth turn checking Thriving.

Moonie Convoy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left triceps. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

This race was delayed 2 minutes due to operational matters.  

Crackerjack Fish and Bound For Blue were quick to begin.

Zipping Pink and Hardaway Jayjay collided on the first turn. Crackerjack Fish and Parzival on the first turn. Definite Signs and Parzival collided entering the back straight. Zipping Pink underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have split webbing on the left hind leg. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr R. Camelleri, the trainer of Zipping Pink, and issued a warning regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.

Denzell Bale and Tah Matt were quick to begin.

Tah Pam, Who Is Arandt, Ultra Lightbeam, Wendalin Bale and Red Gate collided approaching the first turn checking Who Is Arandt, Ultra Lightbeam and Wendalin Bale. Gigi's Fire – Late scratching at 6.50pm on 26/05/20 when Ms J Worsfold reported the greyhound to have an injured toe. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Assertive was very slow to begin - 3 lengths.

Smooth Talker and Mississipi Mud collided soon after the start. Stareena and Smooth Talker collided on the first turn. Stareena checked off Weeona Roger entering the back straight checking Smooth Talker and Mississippi Mud. Assertive, Stareena and Mississippi Mud collided approaching the home turn. Stareena and Assertive collided on the home turn causing Assertive to brush the running rail and lose ground as a result. Weeona Roger and Smooth Talker collided approaching the winning post.
