Smooth Onyx was quick to begin.
Primo Beso and Coffey Road collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Why Not Kaleb and Coffey Road collided on the first turn checking Coffey Road. Beaut Deeds and Coffey Road collided approaching the home turn checking Coffey Road. Beaut Deeds raced wide in the home straight. Coffey Road lost ground in the home straight.
Coffey Road underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg dislocated toe. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
