Steward's Report
Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.
All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Astro Naughton checked off Urana Rose approaching the first turn. Glamorous Lass and Cutie Kay collided approaching the first turn checking Cutie Kay. Tiger's Twenty and Glamorous Lass collided on the first turn. Ghost Ship checked off Cutie Kay on the first turn. Tiggerlong Pat marred Fishbone Express in the home straight. Urana Rose and Fishbone Express collided approaching the winning post checking both greyhounds.
Urana Rose underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the right hind leg. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr G. Glass regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting on their own observations, viewing the official replays (head on and side on) and taking evidence from Mr Glass, Stewards issued a warning against the greyhound's racing manners.
Tiggerlong Pat underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to representative Mr H. Goss regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Tiggerlong Pat was charged with marring. Mr Goss pleaded not guilty to the charge, Tiggerlong Pat was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
