A pre-race sample was taken from Frankie Fever.
Whistlin Missile and My Era Rico were slow to begin. Frankie Fever, Vegas Rules and What Price Mason collided soon after the start checking What Price Mason and Vegas Rules. Greysynd Spectre galloped on Zipping Kingston on the first turn checking Frankie Fever and Rockin' Richard. Vegas Rules galloped on What Price Mason approaching the home turn, faltered and tailed off as a result. Frankie Fever and Whistlin Missile raced wide on the home turn. Vegas Rules and Rockin' Richard collided in the home straight. Whistlin Missile raced wide in the home straight.
Vegas Rules underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a fractured right humerus, an injured right monkey muscle and abrasions on the left wrist, left toe and right hind leg. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
