Awesome Grit and Sprite Halo collided soon after the start. Blusain Bolt and Elegant Malt collided soon after the start. Awesome Grit checked off Sprite Halo approaching the first turn. Awesome Grit and Sprite Halo collided on the first turn. Scott Maghic, Sprite Halo and Elegant Malt collided on the first turn. Blusain Bolt and Close Encounter collided on the first turn. Zoe's All checked off Blusain Bolt on the second turn. Scott Magic and Sprite Halo collidedon the second turn severely checking Scott Magic which lost ground as a result. Blusain Bolt checked off Close Encounter in the back straight. Scott Magic checked off Blusain Bolt in the back straight. Kurri Kurri and Close Encounter collided approaching the home turn.
A post-race sample was taken from Kurri Kurri - the winner of the event.
Sprite Halo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right deltiod. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr B. Milne, the trainer of Sprite Halo and issued a warning regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the back straight.
