Steward's Report
Upright, Who Is Arandt and Divine Jewel were slow to begin.
Brinlee and Xella Bale collided soon after the start. Who Is Arandt and Upright collided soon after the start checking Who Is Arandt. Poppo's Legacy and Brinlee collided approaching the first turn. Self Assured and Sensory collided on the first turn. Divine Jewel checked off Xella Bale on the first turn. Brinlee and Divine Jewel collided on the first turn. Upright and Who Is Arandt collided on the first turn. Self Assured shifted out on the second turn checking Sensory. Divine Jewel checked off Brinlee on the second turn. Brinlee checked off Xella Bale entering the back straight checking Brinlee. Upright and Divine Jewel collided approaching the third turn. Divine Jewel checked off Xella Bale approaching the home turn Upright visibly eased in the home straight.
Self Assured underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left chest muscle and a laceration to the right hock. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr P. Crawley, the trainer of Self Assured and issued a warning regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the second turn.
Upright underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 4, no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to Mr R. Chivell, the trainer of Upright regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Upright was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Chivell pleaded guilty to the charge, Upright is suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
