Steward's Report
Black Canvas, Inga Mikey and Cosmic Sparkle were quick to begin.
Black Canvas and Inga Mikey collided soon after the start. Spectral Blade, Romanova, Mepunga Debbie and Magic Will collided approaching the first turn checking Romanova and Mepunga Debbie. Magic Will eased approaching the second turn. Inga Mikey and Spectral Blade collided on the third turn. Romanova checked off Mepunga Debbie in the home straight. Magic Will trailed the field and was vetted following the event.
Magic Will underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right monkey muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms. M.Shaw, the handler of Magic Will regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Magic Will was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms M.Shaw pleaded guilty to the charge, Magic Will was suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
