Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Ruby's Cheekstar.
Krypto Jam, Kingsbrae Boof and Zipping Riot collided soon after the start. Krypto Jam and Ruby's Cheekstar collided approaching the first turn. Kingsbrae Boof, Ruby's Cheekstar and Zipping Riot collided on the first turn checking Zipping Riot. Krypto Jam and Ruby's Cheekstar collided approaching the home turn. Zipping Riot faltered entering the home straight and lost ground.
Following the event Zipping Riot displayed signs of Post Exercise Distress Syndrome (PEDS). As a result, the greyhound underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to be displaying clinical signs of Ataxia/Hypermentia. A 5 day stand down penalty ws imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Johnson, the trainer of Zipping Riot. After hearing submission, the Stewards acted in accordance with GAR 74 and Zipping Riot must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) and receive a veterinary clearance before any future nomination will be accepted.
Justin Rose - Performed a Stewards Satisfactory Trial as the greyhound was stood down from racing at Sale for Failing to pursue (injury). Weighing 32.3kgs and beginning from box 1, Justin Rose completed the 440m trial distance in a time of 25.49. Justin Rose placed 3rd in a field of 4 beaten by 3.25 lengths. Justin Rose has been Cleared to race at all tracks.
