Steward's Report
A sample was taken from Atlantic Jewel upon arrival at the course.
Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr .G.Berry (Atlantic Jewel) regarding the number of starts the greyhound has had between 5/7/2019 and 18/7/2019 (14 days - 4 starts). Mr .Berry explained that Atlantic Jewel was exercised minimally between starts and in his opinion was showing no signs of fatigue.
Fearless and No Vacancy were slow to begin.
War Creek and Atlantic Jewel collided soon after the start. Charlie Cockatoo, Ledgerwood Libby and War Creek collided on the first turn. Fearless checked off No Vacancy on the first turn and contacted the rail. Charlie Cockatoo and Delta Rhode collided approaching the home turn checking Charlie Cockatoo and Lilly An' Page.
A post-race sample was taken from War Creek - the winner of the event.
Fearless underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to left and right monkey muscles, left quadricep and right pencil muscles. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
