Giggling Gerty and Weblec Spice were slow to begin.

Star Reiko and Miss Klara collided soon after the start. United Lass and Giggling Gerty collided on the first turn. Star Reiko and Weblec Spice collided on the first turn. United Lass checked off Tizza Gem approaching the home turn and collided with Weblec Spice. United Lass and Weblec Spice collided approaching the home turn.

Weblec Spice which performed below market expectations underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left monkey and left quadricep. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Kennel representative Mr James Shaw stated although Weblec Spice suffered interference in the run he was disappointed with the greyhounds performance.

A post-race sample was taken from Weblec Spice- unplaced in the event.
