Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Valletta Mist.

Sofie Gogolac and Young Jebrynah were quick to begin. 

Sofie Gogolac, Special Kirst and Young Jebrynah collided approaching the first turn. Foul Snooker, Simmo Gogolac, Valletta Mist and Sofie Gogolac collided on the first turn checking Valletta Mist and Sofie Gogolac. Big Little Sis checked off Sofie Gogolac approaching the home turn. Special Kirst and Young Jebrynah raced wide on the home turn. Sofie Gogolac and Big Little Sis collided entering the home straight. Valletta Mist visibly eased and collided with Simmo Gogolac in the home straight.

Sofie Gogolac underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left pencil/whip muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Valletta Mist underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the toe, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr J Nicholls, regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Valletta Mist was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Nicholls pleaded guilty to the charge, Valletta Mist must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
