Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Kiewa Cowboy.
Harry's Entity was slow to begin. Calen and Grudge collided soon after the start, checking Calen which lost ground. Calen eased approaching the first turn. Grudge, Marvelette and Blue Magnum collided on the first turn. Marvelette and Blue Magnum collided approaching the home turn, checking Marvelette. Grudge and Kiewa Cowboy collided entering the home straight.
Calen underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right quadriceps muscle injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr C.Newman, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Calen was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Newman pleaded guilty to the charge, Calen must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Kiewa Cowboy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected.

Flash Fernando – Performed a Stewards Satisfactory trial as connections wish to remove blinkers from the greyhound. Weighing 31.6kg and beginning from box 1, Flash Fernando completed the 425m trial distance in a time of 26.15. Flash Fernando placed 2nd in a field of four starters beaten by 0.5 lengths. Flash Fernando has not been cleared to race without blinkers due to the greyhound easing entering the home straight.
