Weighing 31.6kg and beginning from box 1, Flash Fernando completed the 425m trial distance in a time of 26.15. Flash Fernando placed 2nd in a field of four starters beaten by 0.5 lengths. Flash Fernando has not been cleared to race without blinkers due to the greyhound easing entering the home straight.
