Steward's Report
Figment and Steel Magnolia were slow to begin. Kiewa River Run and Figment collided approaching the first turn. Figment, Kid Raider and Golden Moon collided on the first turn, checking Golden Moon. Kiewa River Run eased approaching the home turn and collided with Steel Magnolia.
Kiewa River Run underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left wrist sprain, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr W.Leitch, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Kiewa River Run was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Leitch pleaded guilty to the charge, Kiewa River Run must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Rotarua - the winner of the event.
